Station 'hump' set to ease access (BBC News)
 
A rural train station is set to try out a specially designed platform 'hump' to improve access to trains.

Good idea, my poor old mum has to get on at one particular station in the Liverpool area (possibly Mossley hill) on her knees and then once boarded ask the passengers to help her get up on her feet. Yes its a bit humiliating. She's a long way from needing a wheel chair and walks miles every day but just cannot lift her foot high enough to board some trains any more.
