I was in Istanbul in October 2007, and I remember walking past the construction site. Quite a lot of activity!

I love turkey and go there most years. It has a sense of urgency about it that you just don't seem to get in many of the other countries on the med. In many places you go its new motorways, hospitals, railways, airports, offices etc everywhere. You can legally get a beer in most places as well.
Not sure how anyone can afford to drive there though as your average Turk earns much less than us yet their fuel prices are even higher than ours. :eek:

Not done the East though, as westerners are not necessarily quite so welcome there.
