Keith's Second New Layout

Hi, Happy New Year to everyone - this is my first message since Christmas as I have been busy completing my second layout. I have posted a photo of this layout in the Gallery. The layout in 00 is 5ft 6 inches x 3ft 6 inches, mounted on ply and covered in soundproofing rubber. It is hinged to the wall when not in use, hence all the buildings can be removed. Walls, hedges, etc which are all scratch built are permanently stuck to the board. I mainly run diesel on this layout whereas the first layout which is in Bridlington is a mix of steam and diesel. I can post pictures of this to the gallery if I think members will be interested. I will be at the Harrogate Railway Exhibition on Saturday, 31st January - are any other Forum Members going?

Hi Keith, pleas post some photos of your 1st layout on to the gallery. I for one would be very interested. I looked at your photo of the 2nd layout before I read the above post, so now I understand why there are no hills, banks tunnels etc. Looks to be quite a busy little layout. Just goes to show that you don't always need a large space to run a model railway.

Hi guys - thanks for your interest in my layouts. I have now posted pictures of the first layout which is in Bridlington. This layout is approx. 8ft x 4ft and has been erected in our loft (between the vertical joists), this saved quite a bit of space. The disadvantage is that I have three sets of joists protruding from the centre of the layout - but hey hey it still looks ok! Locomotives are predominantly Hornby, Lima and Bachman.
