Transport Police Appeal After Incident In Doncaster

4 November 2008 11:58 TRANSPORT POLICE APPEAL AFTER INCIDENT IN DONCASTER British Transport Police is appealing for witnesses after a train was shot at with what was believed to be an air rifle in Doncaster. The incident happened just after 16.00 hours yesterday (Monday November 3) at the road overbridge at Rosehill Road at Bessacar. The driver of a train travelling between Doncaster and Kirk Sandall reported seeing three children with what appeared to be an air rifle pointed at the train. One of the train’s windows was damaged but, thankfully, no-one was injured. Sgt Mick Dawes, of British Transport Police, said: “This was a very dangerous act and it is vital that we trace those responsible. I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident taking place or who has any information about this crime to contact us on Freefone 0800 405040 quoting incident number 357 of 03/11/08.” |
