One of Britain's oldest rail companies says a poor summer and rising fuel costs mean it has to cut jobs.

Hope this is only a temporary blip for the Festiniog. It would be sad to see history repeat itself with the Welsh Highland due to open fully in the spring!

I assume that both lines will convert more locos to coal burning.
