With car use down and demand for rail travel up, are we seeing a renaissance in public transport?

I am for it being a new "Age of the Train", so long as we dont have Jimmy Saville doing the adverts again.

I seedm to remember that last time round "The age of the train" slogan was dropped when people began to think it referred to the antiquity of the trains.
