Rail firm hails train punctuality (BBC News)
 
Network Rail sees a £1.2bn annual profit and says that train punctuality was at record levels in 2007/8.

And is that £14m fine which the taxpayer originally provided going to be put back into the railway?.....Is it b*****x. It's going to the Treasury!!!


So instead of punishing Nitwit Rail and benefitting the railway, the ORR (ie, the Government) has effectively pocketed the money for itself, and deprived the railway of the money it badly needs. That doesn't punish NR so much as slap the travelling public in the face.


So no surprises there then :rolleyes:
