Holiday warning over rail danger (BBC News)
Network Rail warns young people about the dangers of trespassing on railway tracks.

They can issue all the warnings they like, because kids will only do what they want to do and ignore the dangers. I am talking from my own experiences and on both sides of the fence.

Issuing warnings is a waste of time.
It's a shame that the authorities cannot show pictures of the lethal after effects of trespassing on the railway or playing with a 25000 volt electric cable. That just might focus a few minds. |
I've seen 'em using it as a footpath. I've seen 'em throwing stones at trains, I've seen 'em playing "Chicken" in front of trains and shown then the video! I've even seen 'em absailing from the bridge above onto the live track below............and I reported it all to the Police.
Police?........"we're very busy sir"....or......"It's just Children playing sir". Next thing I see........is a very flat stretcher being loaded into a private ambulance! I tried to warn 'em...........but they weren't interested. |
There again, I sometimes think that allowing these idiots to remove themselves from the gene pool might be the best thing to happen in the long run!
