Eurostar.
 

Now that Eurostar has moved to St Pancras does it mean that there are no longer any Eurostar trains running from Waterloo ?.

Cheers Eurostar, what do You think will become of the terminal at Waterloo. Will it be demolished or could the platforms be used by conventional trains in future. Would the track have be removed or can normal train traffic use it?

I was in London a few weeks ago and went to Waterloo to see the Terence Cuneo statue, which I thought was brilliant. The ex-Eurostar terminal looks a bit shabby to say the least. I hope they do something useful with it because it looks as though it will be a bit of an eyesore in no time at all.

To think all those millions spent at Waterloo, now presumably all going to be scrapped.

My understanding (and it could be wrong) is that it will be used when they get around to redeveloping waterloo. Personnally I think they should rip it down, I mean in a building designed to last 15 years or more they replaced the roof panels within ten because they were cracking.

You might be able to tell I dislike many of the newer buildings around these days (see the st. pancras thread).

There is direct access to the mainline (I don't know where) because the EPS 37's could regularly be found at Clapham Junction with translator vehicles. never saw a 73 there though!!

I think the Eurostar platforms at Waterloo will be used by conventional trains.

Never mind that, will the rest of the Country ever see a Eurostar train?.....

It would be great if we did but I'm not holding my breath.:(
Personally I think the decision not to run Eurostar services north of London is another victory for terrorism.
