Driver injured in train accident (BBC News)
 

A train driver is injured and services are disrupted when a lorry hits a footbridge in Leicestershire.

The footbridge was lattice style on the site of the original Borrow Upon Soar station fast lines only. The preasant station is about half a mile further south and is on the goods(slow) lines only.
The train crash today was on the fast lines.

Perhaps I shouldn't jump to any conclusions but it looks like Network Rail have got a lot of explaining to do:-(

The truck which hit the bridge was not near the track the bridge is quite long.
If you go to google maps & the get a satalite view you can see the bridge north of the presant station. Barrow station is about 2 miles south of Loughborough station.
I don't know who owned the truck but it is possible it has nothing to do with Network Rail.

According to Supt Andy Ball of the British Transport Police "the tipper truck was delivering ballast trackside"
A Network Rail spokeswoman also said that they had a representative on site at the time of the accident and that they had tried to warn the train driver by waving a handlamp.

I have not seen that report.
