Rail engineers 'did not turn up' (BBC News)
A rail boss admits he does not know why specialist workers failed to turn up to the West Coast Mainline over New Year.

Praising Network Rail staff he said: "When we called on Network Rail maintenance people they came and they worked and they were loyal and they worked so hard we almost had to sent them home for their own safety."
Mr Coucher, chief executive of Network Rail I get the impression that he was pleased with them.;) |
My theory is they couldn't get there because they where trying to use the train, and there was of course no service because of engineering work, which was running late because they couldn't get there because they where trying to use the train, and there was... you get the idea!

As it Was Jarvis I can understand there being problems since they took 3 years to build a single carriageway bridge over the A1 a few years ago. During that time I drove past the site twice a day, 5 days a week on my way back and forth to work so am not really surprised at them not getting the recent rail work completed on time.
