Metal detectors greet rail users (BBC News)
Metal detectors greet rail passengers at Carlisle station, in an operation to deter knife crime.
More from BBC News... |
I came accros the Operation Sheild at Hunts Cross a few weeks ago and Liverpool Central on a Few Saturdays.
In my book there sholud be more of it and no reson why they cant do it more offten rather than just near christamas. |
They started this a few years ago at Luton Station for the local carnival, and everyone was appalled at just how much metal work was being carried.
Now it's part of the SOP every year that all passengers arriving off trains have to walk the gauntlet of dogs and metal tunnels. And some of the dogs get excited when they smell restricted drugs too....gotcha !! :D |
They were at Lime Street on Staurday Night but not Liverpool Central "Doh" Bit silly having it6 at one place and not the other !
