37408- the sole survivor

Latew last night, I stumbled across a picture of 37408 in Large Logo livery, dated 1994. Using Fotopic, I've come up with three pictures which show it lasted in this condition till after Christmas 1998. Personally, I reckon that's quite an achevement.

I love 37s. To me they're the absolute embodiment of what a diesel loco should be - chunky and mean sounding.

I hope that one day, if I'm very very good, I'll manage to blag the opportunity to drive one on the mainline. ;)

Warrington seems to be "the place" for 37's at the moment.:)

Knowing my luck, if I did they'd stick me 66s all day. :(

That would be shocking;)

It is sad that 37408 was damaged in the shunt at the end of 2005 (I think) It would have been great to see it preserved.
