£160 fine and a 2 month ban is disgusting!
He should have been banned for a hell of a lot longer for putting the lives of 65 school kids and the passangers and crew of the train. What sort of message does this type of sentence send out. Les |
My first reactions were similar to those of LesG until I read the story more closely and on a number of different websites.
Admittedly Mr.McGeorge broke the law and could have caused the deaths of many people but I don't think he is entirely to blame. Nobody can be expected to concentrate fully with 65 screaming kids behind them and the authorities that put him in that position should shoulder some of the responsibility. |
I work in a school, and yu would be amazed at the complaint we get from the bus company. I can completly sympthasis the the driver.

To start with it's bad driving, the bus driver is holds a psv licence which entitles him to drive buses and he has to pass a test to obtain the licence so the near accident was his fault.
I think it's wrong to let a bus driver take all the blame, why should he have to be responsibile for 65 kids as well as driving the bus. Surely the school should have provided supervisors, Alan |
