A new train operator begins services between Shropshire and the West Midlands.

With all these new franchises coming into operation, it seems that the railway map of the UK is looking more and more like it did in 1921. Hopefully the next game of railway musical chairs wont destroy the image! I suppose that that would be unlikely if the present shortage of chairs continues.

Well of course the big plan is to have fewer but larger franchises. But it's not really looking like that at the moment, with new open access operators popping out of the woodwork.
