Midland Meridian

Blagged a ride in the cab of a Midland Meridian today....Wow.
It was the opposite of every Multiple Unit I've ever been in; Roomy, quiet, comfortable - and the train took off like a rocket.

After all the discussions about how crude and uncomfortable modern cabs are it's really changed my attitude to current train manufacture - I WANT ONE :D

I think I asked someone a similar question once before.

So when you get one, what colour will you paint it? What will be "Foghut Mainline" livery be? Tastefull and restrained, or psychadelic?

That's an interesting question. I've never given it much though up till now, but I think I'd like to see the old colours of Thameslink, ie Dark Blue with a thick Yellowy Gold stripe - but this is probably just a kneejerk reaction to seeing everything including the station cat painted in First's shocking "girly" pink and purple colours

(PS note to the Politically Correct Brigade - my use of the word girly was in no way intended to be demeaning or sexist, hell I 'respect' them so much I even married one :D )

 Yes, so many train liveries are now so garish that the least painful part of the whole livery is the yellow front.

I'd like to see the Thameslink colours too.

I agree that the 222s look good from the exterior and interior, they have big comfy seats and an overall great atmosphere.

Which is why the tasteful GNER livery is history.....
