New user here in peace.

I'm a 30-something railway enthusiast from Pentyrch near Cardiff. Been hooked ever since seeing my first screaming Paxman-Valenta HST in the late 1980s ( those were the days!)

I also have a question, which I hope somebody here might be able to answer:

On Friday 9th June 2017, I am taking the 08:16 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Blackpool North. I have been told it might be booked for a 185, but I am not totally sure that the traction will be a 185 - so therefore if anybody does know please let me know.

Hello and welcome to the forum from all the staff, I would imagine a 185 will more than likely take you to Blackpool from Manchester, enjoy the forum and all the best.

Welcome to the forum Mr Griffiths from a fellow Welshman.
It will be a NR 185 that takes you from Manchester to Blackpool for your trip, but I understand these are due to be replaced soon.

Just a quick update, it was in fact 2 x 156s which took me to Blackpool North.

Departed five minutes late (due to a freight train being given priority over us on Platform 14) but still a good journey.

Plse could anyone tell me where I can find free practice tests for the DOTS test and the SCATT tests please?
