Hi
I'm not a railway enthusiast as such, but I am hoping for some help. It might be along shot, but I am hoping someone might be able to identify the engine from the miniscule amount in this picture! My GrandMother worked for the railways in the 50s. She cleaned the station Lamps so of course she travelled from station to station.... on the train:-) Anyway, I am making a family history album and it would be nice to add a story around this picture and include detail and maybe even a picture of the whole engine if I can find out what it is. I have trawled the internet but without any luck. I appreciate your time, Thanks!

It would be interesting to know a little more about your Grandmothers job, like which stations she cared for.

Yes Maureen, it would be good to know more about your grandma's job with the railway. I've never heard of people being employed to clean station lamps – I assumed that was done by junior members of the station staff. Was that all she did, or were there other aspects to her work?

Unfortunately I only know what my elderly Father can recall and that's about it! It would indeed be nice to know more.
