Llanwern.

Llanwern steel works is closing down with the loss of 250 jobs, this will mean a big drop in freight traffic.

Wasn't Llanwern the biggest strip steel mill in Europe at one time? No doubt production is being transferred to India in the interests of "Globalisation" and Tata Steels profits.

The closure is being blamed on the high exchange rate of sterling, but the great and the good will tell us anything.

I think what remains of the once vast Llanwern complex has been mothballed previously and then reopened again when demand, or the economics, have been seen as more favourable. I wonder if that's the case this time as well, or is it closing for good this time
