Getting California's bullet train back on track
 

There are currently more than 30 high-speed rail (HSR) services running successfully all over the world. In Europe, Asia (where Japan's HSR has been running for over 50 years) and India, for example, HSR is benefiting the economy, the environment and its inhabitants - and even the Gulf Coast Countries are now embracing a rail revolution. Yet in the USA, the biggest economy in world, HSR has yet to get on track.

There are a couple of good reasons for the lack of high speed rail in the USA. Firstly, the Americans in general are not great travellers, they mainly stay in and around one locality. When they do travel the distances are so vast that they fly. Why would you (as a business man) sit on a train for at least 6 hours between New York and Chicago when you can fly in 2 hours? The US railways are mainly used for freight.
