Hello!

Hey there, my grandad used to be a steam train driver.
We soon may have some genuine new steam train overalls for sale.
If anyone would be interested let me know and we'll see what happens!

Hello GeorgeJ and welcome to the Railway Forum. I also live in Bristol and was once both a fireman and a driver on the Rhodesia Railways. I am now building a '00' layout, but have had to put it on hold as I have a very sick wife.

That's a shame, sorry to hear about your wife. My grandad was also a fireman and then went through a lot of jobs on the train. All he's done in his life is drive trains. Good to hear that someone on here is from Bristol!

There are quite a few Bristol members on the Forum although not all of them post.

Thanks for the hellos.
I'm basically on here just on behalf of my Grandad who has a lot of stories about the railways. He worked on the trains since he was 14 till when he was 65 its all he's done! He's even driven the Orient Express!

Hi George and a warm welcome to this friendly forum. We hope you can get your grandad to write down some of his experiences on the railways for us – I bet he has some stories to tell!

GeorgeJ 20th January 2014 16:00

Thanks for all the welcomes!
