Pantograph accident at Blackfriars
 

Ooops. It rather looks like a driver will be having an unscheduled 'Tea & Biscuits with the boss' following this one.

This morning the pantograph on a Class 319 EMU struck the roof at Blackfriars Station.

It looks like one of two things.
1) The pantograph may have raised itself on the way into Blackfriars station (they have been known to do this under certain fault conditions).
2) The driver failed to switch mode from AC to DC whilst standing at Farringdon in the Southbound direction. In the old days the pan would have been ripped off as soon as the train entered Snowhill Tunnel. But when Farringdon was remodelled, the catenary was extended through to beyond City Thameslink. So it may be that Blackfriars canopy is the new place for Pans to be torn off.
