Young Noob Train Enthusiast Says Hello

Hello all
I am a 23 year old train enthusiast,I just started filming and taking pictures of them yesterday, because i got only just got a new camera.
As you can guess my favourite trains are freights, i just love when they come whizzing past at such high speeds, they are also quite nice looking.

Although my name may give you the impression i know alot about trains, i know diddly squat tbh :o.

(I don`t suppose anyone can give me a good website to learn about them or tell me on here about the basics i.e how to work out what a class is etc, to save me starting a new thread?)

I look forward to sharing my experiences,video,and knowledge *cough* i mean photos with you:D:rolleyes:

Hello and welcome to the Forum. You've come to the right place as it's a very friendly Forum and there is a huge amount of knowledge available here. In terms of what class a locomotive is, it's usually quite easy because the locomotive number tells you: 56 XXX is a class 56, 66 XXX is a class 66 etc. but as I say you'll get loads more information from the very knowledgeable members on this Forum. I know there are several who are freight fans and take photos of freight trains. Look forward to reading your posts.

Hello to you and a warm welcome Freight Train Freak. You certainly chose the right place for answers to your questions. There are many a good site on the web, just google uk freight trains and see what comes up! There are a lot of good quality photos in the gallery taken by members for all to share.
There are also many a very knowledgable member only too willing to help us all. It's good to be here and sit back and enjoy our company. We will enjoy yours

Thank you all for your welcomes.
I was looking on wikipedia earlier and thats help me understand it all so much better now, i feel like actually trainspotting.
