Hello and some help advice needed.
Hi all
Now I like steam trains but they are not my main interest. However I do need some assistance from people such as yourselves, with knowlege I do not possess. I have inherited a presentation coin collection from the Royal Mint of 18 coins commemorating " The golden Age of Steam". These 18 individual coins are minted in .925 silver and then plated in 22 carat Gold. All in protective cases and mounted in a presentation box with individual COA's. The link below shows images in the silver finished versions to give you an idea of what they look like. http://alderney.gov.gg/article/10014...n-Age-Of-Steam The silver sets sets sell for around £900, so the gold ones are a bit more. I am just wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of where to go to sell these to a business or individual that is interested in steam trains and their history. Not withstanding the above, I have seen the local paper a few times printing images of steam trains passing through Spalding. as a photographer I would like to shoot them myself, but do not know how to find out when these rare events take place. Is that also something this forum can assist me with? Many thanks. |

Afraid I can't help with the coins, but the above site is excellent for finding out about steam tours.Timings are usually posted when known, usually a day or two before the tour. |

That was from London Coins DOT co DOT uk or http://www.coinheritage.co.uk/ so might be worth starting there wouldn't bother with Ebay nothing on there |
Or try a specialist Coin Auction run by a large auction house.

Hello PsiFox and welcome to the Railway Forum. I hope you find someone who will give you a good price for your coins, or an Auction House that does not charge too much to sell them.
Have a look at the forums Gallery to see lots of really good photo of steam as well as those other things that also run on railway tracks. |
Welcome to the Forum PsiFox. Good luck with the coins. Look forward to seeing some of your photos in due course.
Best wishes, John H-T. |
Welcome from me too and hope you have fun on here. I imagine the nearest steam heritage railway to you would be the Nene Valley Railway and you will see some good steam there.
Good luck and enjoy All the best Phil |
A very warm welcome to the forum!
