Virgin in tow

Last Year I was at Settle and had the pleasure of seeing, what i think was, a virgin class 47 towing one of the I believe was a Virgin Pendolino. I herd this was due to the line not being electrified. Has anyone got any pictures or videos of this??

A class 47 would seem a strange choice of loco, would seem more obvious if this was a 57. Was the loco in the same livery as the pendolino, if so this would have been a class 57 towing it.

There are currently pendolinos being loco hauled from Preston to Carlisle on Saturdays, one of these being the 10:25 Preston-Glasgow Central non stop. Does anyone know what route this takes, as it would have to reverse at Long Preston if it were to use the S&C line, unless the 57 attaches itself to the back of the 390 and goes via Blackburn connecting up with the S&C there. Would be a sight if it used the cumbrian coastline :D .

David. The engineering work is between Preston and Lancaster so the diversion route is as you say.......Preston - Blackburn - Hellifield and then S&C.
