The Westcountry misses out again though, also less Penzance - London trains according to reports of the new proposed franchise

Something needs to be done to help improve matters on our railway system, and even more so at the Ely, Cambridgeshire bottleneck of a junction, where it is going to be redone and NOT before time in my opinion.

Yes it's good.....but it is I'm afraid "a lot of smoke and steam". It is happening, though not before 2015 & I believe that there is very little that is new about the announcement that was not announced by previous governments.
In fact this administration announced a halt to this work at an earlier date.....and have now (for reasons known only to themselves, but suspected by others to have been re-instated and re-packaged has a "good news" item by our lovable pair at the helm of our nation as theirs, to revive their flagging figures in the popularity polls).

Politicians, don't you just love 'em, your know when they're lying........their lips move!
