Hi my name is James....just introducing myself.

I used to work for Railtrack/Network Rail (at the time it went into Administration) and yes Potters Bar (but we won't go there)....loved working in the Rail industry even if it was tainted by underfunding and privatisation lol...(but we won't go there either lol).

Although I didn't qualify for discounted rail travel, I travel by rail a lot even now and pay a lot of interest in the railways.

Yeah I love the old charismatic steam locos but the old diesels get my juices flowing still and always will lol....

Hi Jif and welcome to the forum.
Though steam is my "cuppa" I do like some of the older and early diesels like the Deltics, class 47's Peaks, and 37's etc. They were just in my time early 60's and us old steam heads had to go to something other, so it was the second best for us! Still very interesting all the same so I know what you mean. Anyway all the best and enjoy our company.
