Photo ban on Glasgow`s Subway.

Passengers on Glasgow`s Subway will face fines of up to a £1,000 pounds for taking photographs on trains or within stations under proposals that have provoked a backlash from business leaders, amateur photographers and civil liberties campaigners.

The only exception would be if a passenger had written permission from SPT. carried this with them and showed it to any Subway officers on request.

What does the forum think ?

A typical load of claptrap

Why is taking a photograph a problem - unless the photographer is causing an obstruction then there is no reason for objecting to photography

I could see that taking photos ON the train could be considered a problem (for other passengers) but otherwise not.

It’s flash photography thats the problem, drivers etc are distracted by the flash. Now just look at some people they are photographing in full daylight and the flash goes off. I think a lot of people do not know how to turn the flash option off in the cameras menu.

I think therefore the problem is more related to Camera PHONES but I do know some people with cameras who think they need to use fill-in flash for everything
