we sat on york station about 7.15pm last saturday evening and watched a train stopped heading south.

lots of diners - looked smashing - only clue was 'royal scot' i think on the side of carriages (lots of diners)

anyone know what this train was and where to book

thanks

Welcome to the forum. York is a great station - I lived there for 22 years to 1967.You seem to have forgotten that some word use capital letters such as the first word in a sentence......

Welcome to the forum. I like York as well. Uksteaminfo has links to the rail tour companies which may help. We recently had quite a long thread about grammar etc and the final concensus was it doesn't matter on a forum like this.

I think the most important thing is posting. Grammer is all very nice but taking part is the main thing.

Welcome to the forum, satinseat.

Hi Ian and welcome to the forum from me too. Hope you enjoy our company. I used to live in Peterborough over in Bretton. I now live in Derby and enjoy lots of local heritage sites.
Look forward to your posts

Sorry about the late reply Ian, but what you saw may have been the "Royal Scotsman" luxury train. If you google "Royal Scotsman" you should find all the info you need.

Being a pedant?
Did you really live on York railway station for 22 years? ;)
