Heritage Diesil Workings for 7th January 2012
 

As stated in the title Iam looking for something Diesel this Saturday I know the ELR has a Diesel Gala this week end but they always seem to use cold carriages plus the same old Locos all the time though have noticed that the GCR Is running Diesel This week end though would like to know what Loco it may be or if it will be the DMu I think Last Year it was the DMu but really want to go somewhere different.

Polite suggestions please.

A quick look shows D5830,D8098,D123 and D5401 are scheduled to work on Saturday. There is also a timetable on the PLEG site.

The GCR's Diesel running weekend is the 14th & 15th, NOT the 7th & 8th. See this link for details http://www.gcrailway.co.uk/Events.aspx?ID=397 It's D5830 & D8098 Saturday ONLY and D123 & D5401 Sunday ONLY.

The ordinary timetable for this weekend ( 7th & 8th) does show diesels working 4 trips, between the steam journeys but is not specific as to wether loco or railcar will be used.

In case you change your mond about the ELR there are the locos running:
37109
37901
D7016 (Hymek)
D335 (class 40)
Class 33 (number escapes me)

The idea was that train heat would be on ths time with much attention on readying steam heat boilers.

I havent changed my mind about the ELR as Iam heading up over night tonight to the GCR where Iam hoping it is the DMU all day on one Diagram as the timetabler seems to sugest this though Iam intending to go to the ELR at the End of the Month as thats when D7016 (Hymek) is also diagramed hopefully with some decent coaches with heaters or at least a guard who will have them switched on.

Im gutted i missed the ELR..........

John, the Hymek 7076 has been taken off the roster for the 28th while the diesel lads catch up with some outstanding work, 33109 is the replacement.

Hi John, I'am not sure from what I was told it would be out of traffic for a few weeks.
D335 is scheduled for this coming weekend, not heard what is rostered for the following week.
