Hi From boiler99

Well, I'm not quite 99 but "not young" either. Never could afford a "train set" when young and so not had much to do with model rail for many, many a year but now retired and building an "N" gauge layout and having fun - but much frustration - with the tolerances or intolerances - that "N" requires. So I may be asking idiot questions of you experts. I'll never achieve the wonderful level of accuracy and detail you see in mags or exhibitions but I just want to have fun running trains reminiscent of my youth beside the West Coast Main Line.

Hello Boiler99 and welcome to the forum from all the staff, I am sure all the modeller members will help you out with your N gauge layout, enjoy and all the best.

Hello Boiiler99 and welcome to the Railway Forum. I started out in 'N' gauge, but soon found that it was too small for my stubby fingers. I have very little feeling in the tips of my fingers. So I changed to '00'. I had a good run with '00', but found that as I got older, stubby fingers with no feeling and failing eye sight, at 72 years, I gave up, and sold my model railway. Not too bad, I was paid £4,400 for it. Just waiting to see if I pass the eye sight for driving now.
