Chasewater Railway Spring Gala
 
Spring Gala March 17th/18th 2012 10 am – 5 pm

Chasewater Railway are holding their annual Spring steam gala on the 17th/18th March 2012. This year sees five engines in steam,

An intensive service featuring passenger trains, freight and/or Coal demonstration trains and take the rare opportunity to ride in a brake van on our popular shuttle train. There will be some double head workings featuring amongst others two Staffordshire built Bagnall engines. We have a guest engine W G Bagnall 0-4-0st No.2842 Kent No.2 a former Kent Power Company locomotive Joining resident Bagnall 0-4-0st No. 2684 Linda.

Another locomotive Hunslet 0-6-0t No.3783 Darfield No.1 will be appearing for a limited time in disguise as Hunslet 0-6-0t No.1451 Holly Bank No.3 bringing back memories of a long since scrapped engine from the local Holly Bank colliery. Other things to see are, Narrow gauge (small extra charge), Model Railway, Museum, Heritage Centre, LMS Patriot project stand, RSPCA stand. Tickets valid to ride all day are £5.95 Adult/£2.95 Child

Holly Bank no3 looks amazing. Been putting the finishing touches on today. Our Glenn will drool as it is Blue.

Can't make this one unfortunately. Seems to be a good show too. When will the next gala be? do you have one or two per year?

Agree Richard, I think Holy Bank No.3 looks stunning and a credit to thoose involved in bringing this project to life especially thanks to the owner for allowing us to make the tranformation from Darfield No.1 for while.

Phil, thanks for the comments and wishes it is appreciated. The next Gala at Chasewater is the industrial themed weekend on Sept 8th/9th. Hope you can make it.

Cracking stuff Bryan and boy does she look good. See what I will be missing! Oh well hope to see her in Sept.

Thanks Phil, we are very proud of what has been achieved. Yes No.3 put on a great show for the photo charter yesterday and looked great on the coal train. Looking forward to the gala next week.
