Excellent, thanks Locojoe, one of the best links I have seen. The InfraBel is a bit of a giveaway, but where in Belgium it is I have no idea.

Nice link Loco Joe but i think you'll find we have 3 of these tracklaying trains here in this country. 1 of them has been an is still working on the Western Region an another working London North Western the last machine is a multi purpose machine able to i think re-lay S&C or Points an Crossings, as for the 3X tamper we have several of those to an Ballast regulators that can do all the profiling of the ballast behind the tampers to finish off the relay an leave the track looking like it should be.

This is true but it is the first time I have seen such a good video of one in action! Even know a man who worked with the one on the WCML a few years ago.

Best wishes,

We had one of these come to the East Somerset Railway a few years ago and it made our rails perfect, sadly they are now horrendosly aligned and are anything but straight.

Hi Wyvern, Yes these machines do get rid of wet beds as they re-new the formation at the same time as re-newing the track once renewed the track requires tamping an once the track is handed back to the maintainer now Network Rail it is programed for maintainance tamping periodicaly to keep the top an line in good condition an fit for trains to run on at what ever the designated line speed is for the line.
