Train on fire

A train has caught fire at Dunton Green (near Sevenoaks) this morning resulting in the closure of the line. From the photos it looks to me like a Network Rail vehicle (tamper or similar).

Updates from KentLive:

Fire is out (approx. 8am)
Network Rail have confirmed it is a Tamper
Tamper was still to be moved
The line still needs to be inspected & assessed for damage

BBC is now reporting that the train (tamper) is in the process of being moved to Tonbridge.

No injuries reported.

Thanks for that Tony.

That does look quite hot and orangey.

I wonder if one of its dangly tools touched the CRE (third rail)?

We'll find out in time, no doubt.

John
