Looks a smart job doesnt it, I wonder if they have a cooker for the driver to keep his brew warm on the power car ? LOL

But seriously it does look a nice unit.

It is a very nice unit, but the stations...you would not dare walk on the floor would you ! Everything is so shiny and clean and new, lacking in atmosphere really, yes I know it IS new and modern and I am old fashioned, but it does not represent a railway station to me.

Interesting though.

That is because the trainset was built in the UK! :D My kid has never been on a train yet as we live in a faraway place(Gabon) where there is only one train and I wouldn't ride on it. The regular commuter trains in SA are not such a good idea either. So I will take her on the Gautrain when we go on vacation to South Africa. There are a couple of restored steam railways as well but last time we were there it was out of season.

They spent a lot of money on it and the "poor" people are complaining that it is money ill spent. But there are advantages including job creation. Give them a few weeks and there will be a "Primus"(kerosene) cooker and the stations will look well used. :D
