Class 460 southern region electrics
Can anyone help, please? At Blackfriars in July 2008 I noted two units, 460425 and 460449, yet my latest stock book indicates that no such units exist. Havew tried to establish what I may have seen instead, tho' I'm not usually careless on these matters, but without results. Any ideas please?

Thanks for the attempts to help. Clearly the sets I saw were NOT 460000-type; what would be the most likely alternative, given the final three digits were (almost certainly) 425 and 449, bearing in mind the Blackfriars location?

I'm pretty sure that Class 460s don't have route clearance to Blackfriars. If they had been there we would all have heard about it - the Gossip network ! (The closest they ever get is Herne Hill, as GatEx has a diversionary route out of Victoria to Tulse Hill & then onto East Croydon).
Like Dave says, I expect it was a 319, as the other units through Blackfriars at the time - Networkers, don't have a /4 subclass. Hope this helps FP (Ex Blackfriars driver) |
Many many thanks for the help of all contributors. I am sure you must be right.
Every good wish to you all. |
