The last slam-door electric trains serving a branch line in the New Forest are withdrawn from service.

very sad news, whats sadder is that despite being electrified they are being replaced Mon-Fri with class 158/159 diesel units.........

or even hire in from another TOC, or contract another TOC to run it on SWT's behalf (like TPE running Northerns Barton Branch). Maybe even Island line have a spare unit? or hire in a 73, 2 MK2'S or 3's and a DVT!
