Another one spotted while riding the miniature railway at York.

Looks like a travelling crane.

Used for permanent way repairs and rail accident remedial work amongst other duties.

Some (or many) were steam operated.

Obviously a steam breakdown crane but from where is a question. Not sure if we used safety chains and it has a sort of Continental look about it. Maybe someone can sneak in and find at least the makers plates.

Just checked Steam breakdown cranes at NRM York and it is this
NER breakdown crane, still think it looks Continental though.

Original number CME13
25 ton capacity.

Might look continental as it hasn't got a full cab and the chimney is tipped down. There is a steam crane at Brownhills which has safety chains as well.
