There's a report on another forum that the Lakeside & Haverthwaite rly was closed today due to weather and that Lake Windermere was at an all time high level also that the river which it drains into had burst it's banks, this River I understand flows parallel to the railway in places. Keep your fingers crossed everyone.

There was pictures of Ambleside and Bowness on the news the other night, the roads were completly covered with just the tops of the waste bins showing. The weather does not look good for all next week either.

There was a model railway exhibition in Workington planned for the weekend. I presume it was cancled. I have not heard about the railway bridge being dammaged. I hope that it is ok.

I checked the BBC Radio Cumbria website earlier, the model railway exhibition was in the list of cancelled events. Typical local BBC station, nothing more up to date than Friday on the list or on their "News" bit.

Good lord! That can't be good for the track! Let's hope that when the water level goes down it hasn't done too much damage.

Doesn't look good at all. Like Pavorossi I hope the water has not done too much damage.

Best wishes,

John H-T.
