One Year On.

I have now been on this forum for a year so it is not really a post to say hello.
It is more of a post to say thank you to the people who run the forum and everybody else who is involved in the day to day running of it.
But most of all I must thank my fellow posters for posting their stories and excellent pictures, and for making this forum one of the friendliest I have ever been on, and I look forward to enjoying the next twelve months.:)

Keep the post and pictures coming folks.

Cheers John

Glad you are having a happy first anniversary John. It is a good fun site as well as an informative one.

Well done John, joining the Rail Forum was one of the best things I have ever done along with being a life member of the ELR, I am out almost every day with my mate Alan taking pictures for the forum and the truck and bus forum and the world photography forum, it keeps us both fit. I will be at the ELR this weekend at Rawtenstall and Irwell Vale that will be Saturday. Here is to the next year John, all the best.

Hi Chris and Syd, I agree with you both and I'am glad I discovered the forum.
Chris did you see my post today in the ELR diesel gala thread, about this Saturdays timetable being covered by three of the visiting locos D444, 45060 and 47765, due to there being no steam locomotives available, quite an unique opportunity for some different shots I think.

Cheers John

IThis thread has prompted me to look when I joined, and it was a year ago last week, and this is now the first stop whenever I go on the internet. I'd like also like to thank everybody who puts their time into this site. I've met one or two members and it has been a pleasure sharing their company. I might regret joining one day when Chris (G6 UXU) gets me to stand on an M6 overbridge photographing Eddie Stobart wagons

Evening all, yes John I saw your post about this weekend and I am looking forward to it after missing the gala last week, hope everything is going well with the black five. Ken, Alan is the Stobart photographer, he has more shots of Stobart vehicles than Stobarts themselves and a database second to none, 17th of July Ken for The Cotton Mills Express with 46115 and the Carnforth to Ravenglass with 45690 and 48151 so we could be busy that day.

This is the only place where I have been able to 'mix' with so many true professional railway people and hear what they got up to in the good old days. My thanks to everyone for the opportunity to share my hobby and take it a step further to my becoming a virtual railway person and one day tell a few stories of my own (even if they are only through heritage workings!!). All the best for another year of moans and growns and lots of laughs.

Good morning all,
Well to put my "two pennorth" in, I honestly do not know how I would get on without this forum and all the friends I have made since being a member of it.
Everyone on here is fantastic and it is a brilliant forum to be a member of.

For those of you that dont know I am a retired railwayman, the job was my life, the locos were my life and I honestly do miss it so much even now, BUT thanks to this brilliant site I am now a retired railwayman AND enthuiast and I am enjoying it so much.

A big "pat on the back" to the Forum management, Admin and Mods, please keep up the good work and long may this forum reign.
Finally thank you to everyone on here for putting up with me :D:D !
