UK Sleeper to Inverness
The Caledonian sleeper arrived at Inverness yesterday double headed, The train loco a class67 the pilot engine a class 90. Presumably driven from the 90 but why so far from the 25kv supply?

I doubt very much that a Class 67 can be controlled from an unpowered Class 90 but I am more than happy to be proven wrong. Did anyone take a photo of this event?

I thought they had some class 73 electro diesels fitted with uprated diesel engines ?
EDIT - See this http://www.railmagazine.com/news/fle...n-sleeper-work And this http://www.westhighlandline.org.uk/i...-sleeper-train And also this-see under re-engineering https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Britis...GB_Railfreight |
Any updates on this topic ?:)
