Bathgate Railway Station
 
Here in a wee town called bathgate in scotland we have a link to edinburgh going from....

Edinburgh Waverly......Edinburgh Haymarket....Edinburgh Park......Uphall.....Livingston.......Bathgate.
And we have had that for years and no we have a big massive new conversion to our railway its still under maintance but its massive and we only had a really small railway and now to see it lifting off the group its amazing take a look here at the new railway getting built http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uAoHbBgYK9s youl see its no were near done yet buts looking great :D

This is part of the re-connection of the line between Bathgate and Airdrie which will provide another link between Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Essentially they are just putting back what used to be there (apart from the overhead wires). It's a shame someone didn't have the foresight to leave the original route and infrastructure in place. They could have saved a fortune.;)

The new Bathgate station when the link from Edinburgh was re-opened in 1986 was if I remember correctly just a short single terminus platform. It is great to see the route now upgraded and electrified with proper 2 platform stations in between.:)
