Qs on Hertfordshire disused railway line

I know there are countless numbers of disused lines in Hertfordshire. but the one in question is a line that goes through Hertford. I cycled along some of it yesterday and i wondered where it leads. it goes out east and west of hertford and appears to be double track.
it would be nice to know:

Where it goes from and where to,
when it was built,
when it was closed,
and also what locos and services operated on it.

Im sorry I don't know the name of the line but im sure someone knows the answer to one of my questions.:D

I wonder if it is part of the old line between East & North? I will do my best to find out, if you can let us know which station you are referring to though please ECML43, as a member of Model Railway Club used to live at Hertford North back in the days of steam and his Love of railways started.

Was it the link between the Hertford East and Hertford North Staions or the line that ran out by Horn's Mill towards Hatfield?
