ELR English Electric Theme Day

The ELR is holding an English Electric theme day. The featured locos should be D5600, D335, 40145 and 55022, with DEMU 1305. Download a timetable from the link below.

I attended the event which was fairly enjoyable. However, the event ran thirty minutes behind timetable, form the first train onwards, and D5600 had to be withdrawn from traffic due to suffering from fuel starvation. I thoroughly enjoyed riding in 1305, it's a truly excellent machine.

Glad you enjoyed it Adam. I missed out on a ride in the 'Thumper' last year. I did lean out of the window (and get soaked by the rain in the process) so I could have a good look at it as it pulled in alongside us.

I'm looking foward to an ELR trip later this year, money permitting. :)

Speaking of 40145, it was running a chartered passenger train through cardiff central on saturday (I was waiting for a train to bridgend, on the wrong platform may I add :().. just if anyone knew where it may have been going too?

I checked 40145.co.uk and couldn't find anything.
