trainee
Hello trainers
I want to start my grandson off as a trainee and wondered what could be recommended as the best book (Ian Allen or otherwise) for trainspotting for the Rochdale (and beyond area). Thanks Smithy7 |
May I suggest a visit to the Ian Allan bookshop on the approach to Manchester Piccadilly station ? It is only a tram ride away. The staff in there are very helpful.

The books shown here will be suitable for a trainspotter in the Rochdale or any other area of the UK. http://www.ianallanpublishing.com/platform-5 |
Thanks John, now you have upset me, that shop used to be one of my "go to" places whenever I visited Manchester. Just shows how you slowly lose touch whilst you bask in the Spanish sunshine for four years. One drawback is that railways are a little sparse in Spain, there is a high speed line being built South to Mercia but work on it seems to have slowed down and the opening date has been put back. It is about 15 miles away from home, Alicante being the nearest place for any photos.

Gracias Tony y John!

I know how you feel about the lack of railways in your part of Spain but I can't feel sorry for you. I'm nearly 1000 kms from the trains that I love but have to put up with the dull damp Cheshire weather.:D |
I haven't been for a couple of years but, the one in Birmingham is still open. Large shop, two floors, near New Street station, sorry now Grand Central.
