I'm not sure but I think giving your email address is not a good idea. Perhaps another member could advise you about that. :)

What's the nearest station to where you live Oliver. :) Do you like steam or diesel best. Have you ever visited a heritage railway, North Yorkshire Moors railway is near you have you ever been there or to the NRM in York.

14xx 22nd March 2010 19:07

1.Wakefield Westgate
2.Steam
3.Yes many
4.yes
5. Yes many a time

Hey have you heard what the nrm did to the turntable?

Hey would you like to talk? I really only like steam trains a bit more than diesels.

So Oliver, what do you find "special" about 14XX locos ?

Don't try and force the chat issue, it will come. Just get involved in the forum for a while.

14xx 22nd March 2010 19:40

Hi

thanks for the advice and about the 14xx class I think they are the best branchline locos from the great westen railway and they look fab with GWR auto coaches. I have not seen the class in action but I have seen many of the class on static display.

Whats you fav loco class?

Oliver

Hello oliver and welcome to the Railway Forum. Do you have a model of a 14XX. I have a '00' and a couple of 'N' gauge ones.

14xx 22nd March 2010 19:53

Hi

Yes I have one model from Hornby

Oliver

Dave Rowland 22nd March 2010 19:59

Hi Oliver. The ONLY model railway loco I have is a very old Airfix 14xx class 0-4-2T 1466. Oops - I tell a lie, I've also got a very small Delgado (?) 4472 Flying Scotsman. No track though... :):(

Not really got an absolute favourite, but the standard class 4 tanks and Green Arrow will do for a start.:D

14xx 22nd March 2010 20:40

Hi

Have you every been to The Great central railway? If you have Have you seen their Oliver Crompwell?

Oliver

pre65 22nd March 2010 20:44

Crompwell ?

I saw Oliver at the GCR when it was having it's rebuild.

I have also seen it in action 3 times (on the same day !) when it made it's return to the ex GER main line last year.

What a magnificent sight (and sound) it was as well.:D:D

Hi Oliver! Hello from America! Welcome aboard the forum. When I was your age I spent most Saturdays down at the depot in my town watching trains.

Then as now, I can't think of a better way to spend the day! :)

Hi Oliver & welcome to the forum.
I don't really have a favourite loco or class, but I like anything steam. I've seen a 14XX in steam on 2 occasions: 4866 at Didcot in 1999 & 1450 when it visited the Bluebell Railway in 2008.

Welcome to the Forum Oliver. My favourite locos are The Stanier Duchesses. I have a Hornby 14XX and auto coach in GWR Livery. I always enjoy riding in the preserved Auto Coaches either with a 14XX or the 64XX pannier tank at Llangollen.

Best wishes,

John H-T.
