Speed Limits on the East Railway
 
Just wondered what the speed limits are on this Railway as was behind 33109 last Saturday and seemed to Be going like the clappers along the Section affter the Bridge over the Merto Link towards Heywood.

25 mph is the speed limit for Heritage Lines but if the Pway is rough it can seem like you are going well quick over dodgy joints and twists.

How does the managment on heritage lines know if a loco is speeding, is there a taco in the cab. Or maybe as long as they are not going too fast nobody bothers.:confused:

25 is the limit on ELR for trains but line is passed for 40 because of signalling that has been done and track improvements.Maintained for 60mph if wanted.
