ELR Winter Steam Gala, 19 – 20 January
 
Join the East Lancashire Railway for the first gala of the year! Featuring an all steam timetable, the following locomotives are confirmed for the event:

Friday 18th January 2013, 18.45 – 21.00 hrs

In conjunction with the January Steam Gala, a photographic evening is being held in the shed yard at Baron Street, Bury.

The shoot will be based around two engines – 34046 Braunton and Standard Tank 80080 – to recreate a small southern shed scenario. Some time will be spent with Braunton, lighting it front 3qtr and the rear to give a few different photographic opportunities.

The cost for this event is £15 per person and no pre-booking is required. The shoot will start at 18.45 hours prompt so please arrive from 18.30 hrs onwards.


Early Morning Runpasts

Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th January 2013, 08.00 hrs start

Following previous popular runpasts, the 3p20 parcels group in conjunction with the East Lancashire Railway will be running freight runpasts at Burrs.

The locos for both days will be 49395 ‘Super D’ on a mixed freight together with a banking locomotive 47324. The freight will consist of approximately 20 vehicles and will be typical of the 1950s / 1960s.

Please be at Burrs at 07.45 hrs for an 08.00 hrs start. A donation of £10 per person is requested and members of the 3p20 parcels group will be at the site to collect the donations.

Hi Draximus, thanks for the info. I will be attending for my second visit to this great heritage line. Really enjoyed myself last year and the weather is looking favourable again this time round fingers crossed.

I might be there myself, weather permitting. Not sure if my 4 year old daughter would appreciate a full day out in the snow :D But I think a run from Heywood to Rawtenstall and back behind Braunton is definately on the cards

A very good line up for the first gala of the year. I too am looking forward to seeing Braunton running. Hope some of you can make it! :)
