Dutch Metro train crash
A Dutch Metro train has crashed through the buffer stops at De Akkers station, Spijkenisse in the Netherlands, coming to rest precariously perched on a piece of sculpture in the shape of a whale's tail!
Fortunately, the driver was the only person on board and had to be rescued and thankfully only suffering from shock. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-...train-22942921 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...-25ft-air.html https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/1...ng-into-water/ There are some who are suggesting that this was staged as a publicity stunt, but it seems to have been widely reported as a genuine accident. My colleagues tell me it ran through the stops. If so, it's bloody stupid place to put a set of buffer stops.

Lucky save, but yes, the design is wrong.
