Hunting hounds killed on railway track
Yes, sadly some hounds have been killed after getting onto a running line.
Link here....ITV News - Hounds killed by train. |
Must be a horrible thing for the driver to go through, got to blame the red coat brigade for their bloodthirsty so-called sport. Hope the Fox got away ok.

There is no mention of a fox. It is illegal to hunt a fox with dogs in the U.K. This was more likely to have been trail hunting where a scent is laid for the hounds to follow. At the end of the day 4 hounds have been killed, which is sad.

Just as well, because apparently the front of the train was in a terrible state (MOMs usually attend 'Person hit by a train' incidents, and have special training). Cheers, John |
When first reading the post, I had pondered a very smart fox, knowing the train timetable and escaping the hounds by darting across the tracks.
But, you have now commented that fox hunting no longer occurs, only lure hunting. The lady driver hitting them cows was probably fortunate that her train didn't derail. In 2008 a DB ICE hit sheep inside Landruecken tunnel and derailed. The Deutschers bung crossovers inside long tunnels. That crossover playing a part in the derailment when sheep got jammed under the Triebwagen. Yes, I could imagine the pong from the mess. Put you off eating steak or lamb for a while. Here, cowcockies are responsible for maintaining their boundary fence adjoining the rail corridor. Train crew were always required to compile a Casualty Report when ever snotting stock on the line. Not sure what goes on these days under privatization. Steve. |
